Game night for grown-ups

The prompts here are cheeky, such as worst first date stories or unpopular opinions. They work best with friends who already know each other well and are happy to laugh at themselves.

Set ground rules at the start: anyone can pass once, no pressure, and nothing leaves the room. Mix truths and dares so the game does not turn into a confessional.

Setting the tone

Edit the list for your crowd. Remove anything that is too personal for coworkers or new friends, and add inside jokes. Keep alcohol out of the rules, so a wheel result is never an excuse to pressure someone to drink.

Keeping it fun for everybody

Games like this work best when guests know each other. Start with lighter prompts and move to bolder ones as the group relaxes. A good host watches for anyone who looks uncomfortable and offers a pass.

Avoid dares that involve alcohol, risk or other people’s privacy. Remember that screenshots and recordings can follow people home.
