Ways to use this wheel
- Weekly planner: Spin once for each afternoon slot and pin the results on the activity board.
- Resident’s choice: Let the person with a birthday that week spin for the group activity.
- Rainy day backup: Keep a second wheel of indoor-only ideas saved in My wheels.
- Family visits: Share the link with relatives so visits have a ready-made activity.
Choosing activities that suit your group
A good activity list mixes the senses and the energy levels: something musical, something creative, something social and something with gentle movement. Watch which sessions bring the most smiles and conversation, and give those slices a higher weight in the Weights and colors tab so they come up more often. Remove anything that is not practical in your setting.
For residents living with dementia, short sessions with familiar music, objects and photos usually work better than activities with many rules. Keep the wheel colorful and the labels short, and use full screen mode with large text so everyone can follow what is happening.
Making the spin part of the activity
The spin itself can be the start of a session. Ask the group to guess where it will land, cheer when it slows down, and let a different person press the button each time. Turn on "Read the result aloud" in Settings so people who cannot see the screen well still hear the result.
