Boy or Girl Wheel – Baby Shower Guessing Game

About this boy or girl wheel
A boy or girl wheel is a party game, not a prediction: each slice has exactly the same chance, so the wheel knows no more than anyone else in the room. That is what makes it fun at a baby shower. Guests write down their own guess, then spin to see whether the wheel agrees with them before the real answer is known.

Keep the cards until the baby arrives or the reveal, then see who was right: the guests or the wheel.
Ways to use this wheel
- Baby shower game: Every guest spins once and the tally of Boy versus Girl goes on a big poster.
- Gender reveal party: Spin just before the cake is cut or the balloons are popped for one last bit of suspense.
- Name game: Spin first, then spin the matching Baby Name Wheel to pick a fun "practice name" for the bump.
- Office card: Pass a laptop around the team and collect everyone’s spin with their congratulations.
How to run the guessing game at a shower
Hand out small cards as guests arrive. On each card they write their guess, their name, and maybe a guessed birth date and weight. Then bring everyone around the screen and let each guest spin once. Mark the result on their card. At the end you have two scores to compare later: how many guests guessed right, and how many times the wheel did.
For a bigger group, turn on "Read the result aloud" in Settings so the room hears every result without crowding the screen, and use full screen mode on a TV.
Old wives’ tales to add to the fun
Plenty of families have traditions for guessing: the ring on a string, carrying high or low, cravings for sweet or salty food. None of them work better than a coin toss, which is exactly why they pair well with the wheel. Read a few out, take a vote, then spin and see which "method" the room trusts most.
Keep it light. Some parents already know and are keeping it secret, some will be surprised at the birth, and some would rather not focus on it at all. Check with the parents-to-be before planning the game around the reveal.
Making the wheel your own
Change the colors in the Weights and colors tab to match your party theme, or rename the slices to "Team Blue" and "Team Pink", or to the names the parents are considering. Expecting twins? Add slices for "Two boys", "Two girls" and "One of each". Save the wheel in My wheels so it is ready on the day.
