How to use the classroom jobs wheel
- 1

- 2
Have each student spin for their weekly responsibility, or spin a names wheel against each job.

- Monday Job Draw: Start the week by distributing responsibilities with enthusiastic applause.
- Student of the Week Bonus: Student of the week receives first choice before the wheel spins.
Helpful jobs, handed out fairly
Classroom jobs such as line leader, door holder or paper passer build responsibility, but they cause arguments when students think the choices are unfair. A Monday spin turns the assignment into a ritual that children look forward to.
Spin once for each student and write the jobs on a chart that stays up all week. Keep a list of who has had which job so everybody gets the popular ones eventually.
Fitting it to your room
Edit the slices to match your classroom routines, and add jobs for specific tasks like plant watering or technology helper. Include a few simple jobs for students who need an easy win. Remove the jobs that are not needed this week rather than leaving them for no one.
