How to use the Minecraft biome wheel
- 1
Spin the wheel to select your destination biome.
- 2
Explore your world seed until you uncover the biome, then build your primary base there.
Ways to use this wheel
- Themed Megabase Project: Design a base using only blocks native to the chosen biome.
- Hardcore Biome Lock: Confine your entire playthrough within the perimeter of the selected biome.
Choose where to build
Starting a new base can be paralyzing when the world has so many biomes. The wheel selects one from varied terrains such as cherry groves, swamps, badlands and the deep dark, so the setting inspires the design.
A themed build works best when you commit to the look of the biome: use local wood and stone and match the colors. For a challenge, spin and then survive in the biome for a number of in-game days without leaving it.
Beyond the Overworld
Add Nether and End biomes if you want a harder build. Biome availability depends on your game version, so remove ones that do not exist in your world.
