How to use the Valorant agent wheel
- 1
Spin during agent select to discover your operative for the match.
- 2
Lock in the agent and coordinate utility setups with your team.
Ways to use this wheel
- Full Squad Agent Spin: Every member of your 5-stack spins and must play the outcome.
- Unrated Warmup: Play one game on a randomly spun agent to sharpen fundamentals before Ranked.
Break out of your comfort zone
Most players stick to one or two agents, which limits growth. The wheel draws from all four roles, Duelists, Controllers, Initiators and Sentinels, so a spin pushes you to learn a different kit. Practicing a new role in unrated or a custom game is a low-risk way to improve.
A 5-stack can spin for the whole team, or use a rule such as one spin per player, no swapping. Some groups add a role-balance rule, re-spinning if the team ends up with no Controller.
Keeping up with new agents
New agents arrive with each act. Edit the list to match the agents you have unlocked, and remove ones you do not own. In competitive play, check the picks make sense for the map.
How the four roles fit together
Valorant agents fall into four roles: Duelists take fights and create space, Controllers shape the map with smokes and walls, Initiators gather information and set up entries, and Sentinels hold areas and defend. A team usually wants at least one Controller, one Initiator and one Duelist, with a Sentinel as the fifth.
When you spin randomly, you may get a team with no smokes. Many groups handle this by re-spinning a duplicate role, or by spinning for roles first and then choosing an agent within the role.
A practice routine using the wheel
Use the wheel in unrated or custom games to learn a new agent without hurting your rank. Play three matches with the agent the wheel gives you, focusing on one skill, such as using your utility on every round. Review your usage afterwards. Moving between roles improves your game sense, since you start to understand what your teammates need.
Spin again after three matches to move on, and keep a list of agents you have tried.
Team challenges
In a five-stack, spin for each player with Remove winner after each spin so there are no duplicates. Add a bonus rule such as no agent swap after lock-in. Streamers can show the wheel as an overlay and let chat vote whether to accept a spin. For tournaments among friends, spin per map so teams adapt.
Keeping the list updated
The roster grows with each season. Edit the entries to include new agents, and delete any you do not own. Add the role in brackets after the name, for example "Sage (Sentinel)", so the whole team can see the composition after the spin.
