Turning spelling practice into a game
Spelling lists are easier to learn when practice is varied. Spin to pick the word, then ask the student to spell it aloud, write it on a whiteboard or use it in a sentence. The random order prevents students from memorizing the list as a sequence.
Play it as a team game before Friday’s test: a correct spelling earns a point, and a miss lets the next team try.
Keeping the answers private
Paste in this week’s words so the practice matches the test. If you do not want students to see the word before they spell it, read it aloud and keep the wheel facing away. Use Remove winner after each spin to cover every word once.
